Delicious Deliveries?
Savor Studio played Sneaky Santa for two of Savor’s biggest fans.
Today, custom treats were delivered to Mr. Jeff Becker of the Arts Incubator Kansas City and Katie Van Luchene of KC Magazine — oooooh we just love surprises! It’s even sweeter when we can thank our friends and fans with an especially prepared box of Savor style smiles!
Both Jeff and Katie have given us props on their favorite Savor snacks on our Facebook page — will you be next? Be sure to tell us what you think and about your favorite Savor experience.
A special Happy Birthday to our friend Jeff at the Arts Incubator and a heartfelt appreciation for your accolades (about our cupcakes) to Katie at KC Magazine.
Sweet Treats for the Kauffman Center for Performing Arts
Dec 7th, Savor Studio desserts will be in store for the guests while they gaze out of the Wilson home (17th & Jefferson) to see the breathtaking Kauffman. The Kauffman is already being termed the “jewel” of Kansas City and we are so excited to see its growth and to see KC support the arts.
We just love to join local businesses to support local arts!
Awwwwe shucks…
Savor Studio received a Thank You note from the Arts Incubator of Kansas City for catering delectable desserts at the Turn on the Heat event. The A.I. is no common place to cater for… in fact, it’s darn challenging. The artists in residence are too fancy for your run of the mill desserts. They demand artistic, unique and never-classic/never-traditional custom designs.
So glad we could deliver. And our favorite line in the Thank You note?
“You guys are just freaking awesome!“
… awwwwe shucks!

PIATTO DE FROMAGGI, FRUTTA E NOCI
A delicious assortment of unique cheeses, fruits, and nuts gathered from around the globe and presented for you to enjoy!
FROMAGGI
• Comté (France)—A mild, creamy cheese similar to Gruyere, pairs well with Chardonnay. Brooke’s favorite!!
• Red Leicester (Ireland)—Bold cheddar-like cheese, with a sweet nuttiness that results in a mellow finish. Excellent with bold red wines
• Cranberry White Cheddar (Wisconsin, USA)—Dairies in Wisconsin never disappoint when it comes to Cheddar; this cheddar comes with the twist of tangy dried cranberries
• Rocenborg Blue (Denmark)—Don’t like blue cheese? Give this one a try—it has a milder flavor characterized by a salty taste.
FRUTTA
• Honeycrisp apples (Washington, USA)—If you haven’t had a Honeycrisp apple, you are missing out! These are nature’s dessert and Katie’s favorite!
• Red globe grapes (Argentina)—The juiciness of the grapes is delicious with the Rocenborg Blue.
NOCI
• Tamari-roasted almonds (Japan)—Tamari gives these almonds a tangy bite.
• Roasted cashews (Thailand)—The sweet taste and soft texture of these large cashews pairs well with the Comté.

Oktober is slang for beer drinking (and noshing)
Fall has arrived and Bob’s 47 Oktoberfest has tempted Savor’s taste buds.
How could we resist this seasonal lager? It’s maltiness can stand up to stronger flavors so Savor rolled a ball of spice cake and local pumpkin, enrobed it in smooth white chocolate and topped it with a c
ute fall leaf. We bet you noticed its sexy picture on our Savor profile pic on Facebook!
We’re hoping it caught the eyes of the Boulevard crew. After all, this love affair is a fling of fall because Bob’s 47 Oktoberfest is just around for a few months.
Don’t worry – Savor will move along to another crush, but we might stick with our spice fetish…. anyone for a Nutcracker ale? Either way, any of Boulevard’s smashing classic beers is a lovely accompaniment to Cake Boules (regardless of the flavor).

Edible Beer? Savor Did It!
Edible Beer? Savor Did It!You know about a Savor favorite, Cake Boules… but what does beer have to do with it (and who are we to argue!)?
Savor created a tasty treat with the creation of Beer Boules using a Kansas City favorite, Boulevard Brewery ales. It started in 2008 when Savor was asked to create an out-of-the-ordinary treat for the 24th International Conference on Business Incubation (National Business Incubation Association) reception hosted by the Kansas City Arts Incubator in our favorite Crossroads District. Savor served up deletable desserts to over 400 guests at the NBIA!
Savor decided to one-up the bartender and win over guests by their sweet tooth. The Savor dessert bar menu incorporated local artisans, especially local icons to introduce the NBIA guests to Kansas City. Beer Boules were born.
The original balls of bubbling beer were Lemony-Wheat and Chocolate-Stout. We loved playing with the idea of complimenting Boulevard Wheat with a lemon in our lemon cake boules and drawing out the roasty coffee tones with velvety chocolate. And we’ve heard rumors that the Boulevard Brewing Company crew have gobbled them up, but we won’t tell the brewmaster!
From the Arts Incubator event menu:
KANSAS CITY’S FINEST EDIBLE BEER BOULES
Milk chocolate enrobed chocolate cake infused with Boulevard Brewing Company Stout Ale with chocolate butter cream frosting & white chocolate enrobed yellow cake infused with Boulevard Brewing Company Wheat Ale with lemon butter cream frosting
